Google Call will provide caller ID and spam protection.  The information about the app was found through an ad on Youtube. Since the app is not yet available on the Play Store, we can expect Google to roll it out soon. The ad has revealed the name and logo of Google Call app. The ad says that Google Call will let you answer phone calls with confidence.  Google Phone  app will have features such as readout caller name and more. GitHub expands open source archive program into three key libraries

Image
The Github Archive Program aims to preserve historically relevant pieces of open source software to allow future software developers to see how the community built and reviewed code. Historians and future generations of developers will be able to unearth early lines of open source Linux, Ruby, or Python code buried 250 feet under the earth’s permafrost layer and, now, in three historic libraries in Oxford, Egypt, and California, thanks to GitHub’s expanding Archive Program. Announced last year at the code management company’s Universe event, the  GitHub Archive Program  aims to preserve  open source software  in much the same way we do works of art, design, or literature. By printing historically relevant open source repositories onto reels of piqlFilm (digital photosensitive archival film), GitHub—which was acquired by Microsoft in 2018—hopes to preserve the open source software movement for future generations. This program includes the storage of a code archive in the Arctic World

ARE YOU REDESIGNING YOUR WEBSITE? HERE’S HOW CODERS CAN HELP YOU CUSTOMISE IT

Image
For the non-tech individuals, it might be tricky to work with a website coder or developer. That’s because the professionals use phrases such as Java, HTML, and CSS. And these would mean little to nothing to the business owners. Website coders take up the task of developing, maintaining, updating, and customizing sites through the use of different programming languages. Typically, they work under webmasters as parts of design or support teams. They provide their services to government agencies, schools, businesses, and various other organizations. These experts are adept at using different programming languages for writing codes and creating appealing designs. The majority of business owners do not understand a single word about web designing and development. But a bit of knowledge in this field is important if you want to redesign their sites. Most importantly, they must know how coders can help in customizing their redesigned sites. 1. Coders Tailor Websites to Fit the Exclusive Requ

How mobile apps grab our attention

Image
First empirical study on how users pay visual attention to mobile app designs shows larger and brighter elements don't catch our eyes after all. As part of an international collaboration, Aalto University researchers have shown that our common understanding of what attracts visual attention to screens, in fact, does not transfer to mobile applications. Despite the widespread use of mobile phones and tablets in our everyday lives, this is the first study to empirically test how users' eyes follow commonly used mobile app elements. Previous work on what attracts visual attention, or visual saliency, has centered on desktop and web-interfaces. 'Apps appear differently on a phone than on a desktop computer or browser: they're on a smaller screen which simply fits fewer elements and, instead of a horizontal view, mobile devices typically use a vertical layout. Until now it was unclear how these factors would affect how apps actually attract our eyes,' explains Aalto Univ
